i was excited about the new transformers movie until i discovered it was directed by michael bay.

also: bumlebee is NOT a VW Beetle in the film because (allegedly) Bay didn't want comparisons to Herbie the Love Bug (as if you COULD!); Bay chose a CAMARO of all things! AND (and this is hugely upsetting and hurts my decepticon loving brain) Megatron will not transform into a gun. the bastard has changed Megatron. frozen? bah-humbug!

hmmm... but it still LOOKS pretty.

Yeah, I'm pretty pissy about the changes, me. We'll see how it goes.

It also looks like it's focusing on the 'humans,' which sounds like the worst possible idea in the entire universe.

i KNOW! *pains*
the fact that i bothered to 'research' this one when i normally wouldn't, has hurt my brain more than i can fathom. thusly, i am downloading the original movie in order to cope with the horror the latest release will bestow. i am also trying to find the financial means to by the box set of the tv series. AND i'm praying my brother still has his toys for me to 'look at'.

Heheh. I have the original movie AND nearly all of the original boxed sets. Only missing the last one.

besides that, ever watch the cartoon transformers movie? they killed off a lot of major characters... in a movie for kids!

I'm surprised you are only finding out about Michael Bay's Travesty now.

I have been wallowing in a Transformer induced depresion for a few years now and full expect Michael to go back in time to steal my childhood toys next.

On the Bumblebee fiasco though apparently it was VW who refused the beatle to be used in the movie as they didn't want it associated with violence and war.
