i'm torn between spending money to fly to victoria for two weeks in july or staying here and auditioning for a show i've wanted to be a part of for a few years now which would be teching during the aforementioned holiday.

which would you choose: a holiday or a chance to be nude for arts sake?

I'd choose the holiday, but then I'm a prude and wouldn't take my clothes off in public unless I had been given quite a large amount of money. Most of that money would probably go to the trauma victims suing me for damages anyway, so it's not just greed, but necessity.

Why can't you have both? Victoria's not going anywhere, you could delay the holiday for a bit.

i can't delay the holiday because it's the only time off Patrick has til the end of the year (assuming he's tutoring again next semester). so it's a case of do it now, or be forced to wait until christmas. and that's an awfully long way away....

Well, even if you have to wait until Christmas, you still eventually get both things. Perhaps not as expeditiously as you would like, but it'll still happen. With the added bonus of you'll be in Victoria when it's stupidly hot up here. I know this is not always good (I remember you being in Melbourne last Christmas when they had 43 degrees or something) but there's more chance of sane weather/wet weather there than here.

To shed a different light on it - it's the question not of nude for arts sake, but if you really want some of those arts theatre regulars see you nude? :P Also, knowhitng the dirrector, you might be able to swing a long weekend in there atleast??

nude in victoria in july could be a tad cold. especially in the central highlands! nude in brisbane in july could be a trifle warmer, especially if it involves operating a follow-spot at the time! ;)

I am amazed at how the focus of most of these comments are about the chance to be nude on stage. Surely if it were about nudity then one could go and pose for artists or become a stripper.

On the other hand...surely the focus should be about how badly you want to play the role because it's a great role in a great play.
