it depends on who issued it...if it's the Police then they are obligated to check the rego sticker and their database to verify the vehicle's owner and address etc.
If it's the Council, they don't have to verify squat and the details of the vehicle can be up to their 'interpretation'. Blue and silver can be easily confused...but in my case they noted my vehicle as blue when it's green...no where near remotely similar.
