I should have learned a long time ago never to trust the word of some of my friends who say they'll attend open mic. Mind you, not that I was entirely expecting the visitation, but even so.

• Do not make the statement if you truly do not intend a follow through.


• Stop pretending to actually be interested, instead, decide whether you are or not.

Okay, there may have been specific reasons for the lack of attendance last night and I understand that (awkward situations aren't flattering at the best of times), but I'm sick of people telling me they'll drop in and then conveniently forget.

The next time someone makes a statement along the lines of supporting me at open mic, don't expect an enthusiastic response until you actually show up at the pub, okay? And when you do attend, at least have the decency to stay until AFTER my performance.

Maybe my monkey isnt as good as i thought

Looks to me like winter may have finally arrived here in the Smart Capital, of course I'm only noticing because half the house in a state of renewal (thanks to continuing renovations). I'm sitting here in a heavy coat and i can still feel the cold air. I'll be incredibly thankful when this is all finished and the heaters will actually be of use. And also by then we'll be fully insulated as well.
