and wait til they read about the penguin and the squirrel up here....

got chatting to the boss about my permenancy the other day: acted like he didn't know and told to me ask my line manager.
tool.
i told him that kevin had already asked me: three weeks ago, and that i'd like to know when it was all going to be done.
it's funny how a swift kick up the bum can get things moving.
unless he gets slothful on me again, i should get my permanent roster either next week or the week after.

good:
  • i know when i'm going to work therefore i can make social arrangements. *tick* yay! SUPERBOWL!!!! ([livejournal.com profile] c4c & [livejournal.com profile] goblinqueen)

  • holiday and sick pay

  • leave loading

  • overtime if i have to work any extra hours

  • bad:
  • pay is less, and one week out of every fortnight i HAVE to have two days off (policy). this may mean i get 16-20 hours one week, and less than ten the next. financially, this is terrible. but i'm going to be forced to deal with it

  • pay is less and one week out of everyfortnight i lose two nights work

  • it's pretty much that i won't have the same money really. there is a particular amount of money i need to earn in order to help us function properly (without cunterlink butting in) and it's just not going to happen with these hours.

  • i'll need to either get a full time day job, or a second part time job in order to fulfill the financial whole caused by this new situation.

  • i've already started looking for new work.
in order to get the money i need, i need to work 20-30hours per week at about $20 per hour.
now, if anyone can find me a part-time (permanent) position that pays this well, in an area i either know or can learn swiftly, or is mostly unskilled (because i have a background in the arts) i may have favours for you (sexual or otherwise*).

i probably should think about going to bed now.
all the fun i've had on [livejournal.com profile] stupid_free has exhausted me.. oh, and yay, i win the intartubens(tm). wow, i lurk on most comms, but the moment i decide to comment, i get all kinds... it's fun. someone even attacked me for the bad poetry i put in my bio...

    til next....
~Kits~ (apparently it's this bit that's the bad part)

People are the suck. I like your sigs and comments. It's uniquely you.

Now, while I appreciate the time people take to post stupid things I just really don't understand how people can get bothered to get their panties in a twist because of something so small. Do these people have so little to do in their lives that they feel the need to expend all that energy at something so petty.

    - Jen (who likes your sigs, it reminds her of usenet where it's cool to have cool sigs on every post you make.)

wow. you defend your honour for a second....i understood pretty much none of that after your defense. geeks.

er, the insulting the poetry bit. im still going through the sig mess. mind you, i am sorely tempted to post that they're all a bunch of smegheads, and then proceed to sign my name.

Oh man, who would have thought? People getting pissy and self-righteous about "their little corner" of the internet.

I think [livejournal.com profile] bunnitos's badge sums up the responses.

Wankers on the back forty again... fetch mah rifle.
